We are loving these new escapes that are popping up around the country in retro buildings…the accommodations represent various eras of time each with their own style and service standard. Food & Wine did a recent article featuring up some of the latest around the country. When you have a moment, you have to visit Conde’ Nast Traveler’s slide show of images that supports the article, “Sleeping Under the Stars.” The accommodation options that allow guests to sleep outside are not too shabby…and of course the locations are pretty darn exotic. (Forget pitching a tent!)
(The below shot at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in Los Cabos, Mexico is a personal favorite of ours…one of our ladies honeymooned at this resort!)

There seems to be a growing trend among the resort spas to offer shorter less expensive services. For example, half-hour facials, 25-minute massages or even menus of 25-minute treatments. A few resort spas including these shorter experiences include The Hashani Spa at JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson, The Anara Spa at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and even Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa.
What do you think? Shorter and less expensive worth the time and money?
